武術家の中には，強くなればなるほどますます弱くなる人がいる。その人こそ武道家であり，禅あるいはタオとともにある。その人は，目立たず，出しゃばらず，主張せず，威張らず，人を見下さない。しかし決して卑屈でも自虐的でもない。無為自然に，ただそこにいる。だからこそ，尊敬され，慕われ，一目置かれる。無と有は一体であり，無から有が生まれ，有はやがて無に帰する。武道家であれば，稽古をすればするほど無に近づいていく。
The stronger some of martial artists become, the weaker they become. It is those persons that are Budo-ka, who are with Zen or the Tao. They are not showy, intrusive, self-assertive, arrogant, nor haughty. But they are not servile nor masochistic. They are just there unintentionally and naturally. Therefore, they are respected, loved, and acknowledged. Being and nothing are one, so being originally comes from nothing, while it eventually comes to nothing. the more Budo-ka practice, the closer they get to nothing.
