Moves and Effects in Karate

All of techniques for defending, punching, and kicking in karate are formulated into exerting the maximum effects on enemies by the minimum moves. The secrets are "tensioning," "breathing," and "balancing (central axis)." Original karate as budo does not contain any exaggerated performances and florid moves. The aim of arts of karate is to exert the maximum effects by manipulating the tension, breath, and balance of our own body within the limit of minimum moves. Developing our body for this aim is the main purpose of karate discipline.
