煌びやかさや豪勢さ，華美さや派手さは目を引くが，そこに真実はない。自然はシンプルであり，質素である。人間はつい見た目にこだわり，分かりやすいアピールをしがちだが，そこに本当の自然さはない。自然にあるということは，余計な装飾を削り取っていったところに残る原石のようなものである。武を極めるほどに，自然へと帰っていく。そこに真理がある。真理に近い人には自ずと人がついてくる。禅とタオを練る武道家には，だから人がついてくる。
Gorgeousness or luxuriousness, ornateness or showiness attract our attention, but there are no truths in them. Nature is simple and plain. Though human beings are apt to be attached to their appearance and appeal to others intelligibly, there is no naturalness in such acts. Existing in a natural way seems like a gemstone that will appear after unnecessary ornaments are all eliminated. The more you cultivate martialness, the more you go back to nature. There is the truth there. People who are near the truth will be voluntarily followed by others. That is why Budo-ka, who cultivate Zen and the Tao, are followed by others.
